Behind the scenes:

Our running game was decimated (as we expected), but we won the game because we would not be denied on third down, mostly passing to a mark of 8-for-19 on third downs. Our unheralded junior strong safety, Hunter Flynn pulled in his 4th INT of the year, and once again, a mediocre to sad LB stepped up for us. In this case, it was jr weak side, Rondell Mummert.

The injury report, however, is nasty this week, and will almost certainly blemish our 5-0 record soon. QB Lincoln Ingram goes down for 0-2, DE Kennedy Eisenbraun goes down 0-2, Roosevelt Clements is still down for 2 weeks, and we lost our MLB, Bubba Porter (our best and most consistent LB) for 2-3 months. We are losing star power FAST. But with Ingram and Eisenbraun only down 0-2, we'll rest them against lowly Lansing next week and hope to squeak by with a win.

Around the conference, North Winn beat Lansing, Garnavillo lost again (0-5 now, go figure), Cresco-ND humiliated their opponent, and Valley of Elgin brought in a win.

Standings:
Mar-Mac: 5-0
North Winn: 4-2
Lansing: 3-2
Cresco-ND: 3-3
Valley of Elgin: 3-3
Garnavillo: 0-5

Next up: Lansing—a very solid pass-defensing team that is nonetheless average in every other category, but dead last in red zone scoring.
