With Goodwin out, Sophomore QB Briggs will get the nod. This guy is a definite candidate for a position change next year: high talent, lots of years left. The good news though is that right behind him in the depth chart is QB Barnes, one of those idolaters that we had to take last year. He’s weak overall, and it is nice to see some of our pickups start to infiltrate the team. Anyway, enough. On to the game…

The Result
Oh, where to start? How about the good stuff first? On the first play from scrimmage, Syracuse rumbled for 80 yards and a 7-0 lead. Unfortunately this was the only good news, as the rest of the day belonged to our evil stars. QB Briggs (22-34, 383 yards, 4 TD’s, 0 ints) showed what a real QB would have done with this team, as he lit up Syracuse on pass after pass. QR Loendork caught everything thrown his way and took two of them to the house. RB Wolfe was his usual self; he rushed for 107 yards and added two TD’s to his ridiculous total. The score, you ask? Notre Dame 51, Syracuse 10.

Record 11-1, Rank #6
