Jets Get Help At Corner
Jets Sign Molden
Hempstead, NY - The New York Jets have found help at Cornerback. After the release of Donnie Abraham the Jets found themselves looking for a cornerback. The Jets found that in 8 year veteran Alex Molden. Molden signed a 2 year contract worth $1.85 million.
Molden brings the ability to make the big play, something the Jets desperatly needed last season. Molden intercepted seven passes last season, forced four fumbles and recovered a fumble. The 5'10" Molden possesses the ability to play more man-to-man defense than Abraham and is good against the run as well.
The Jets would have liked to take a shot at some of the elite corners that were available but are limited to what they can do with their current salary cap situation. The Jets feel they have upgraded the position, and that McGregor is getting more of the type of players that fits his style of play.
With the draft approaching shortly, it is safe to assume that the Jets will still look for help at the corner position. It is believed that the Front Office is high on corners Deagelo Hall, Will Poole and Dana McAllister.
