Iowa City, IA (Ticker) – Iowa’s rookie wide receiver
Matthew McGregor caught nine passes for 178 yards and the defense allowed only one yard rushing as the Barnstormers cruised to a 29-13 victory over the Indianapolis Colts.

Jim Lane, who made all five of his field goals, including a 55-yarder and two 49-yarders. “These guys always seems to reach deep down for something extra and pull out the victory when it matters most.”
Incredibly, the game wasn’t nearly as close as the final score. Iowa jumped out to a 7-0 lead early in the first on an 18-yard touchdown run by
Friendship Lofton. Just over five minutes later,
Roman Roberts connected with McGregor for a 62-yard touchdown pass to put the home team up 14-0. Lane nailed three field goals in the second quarter, and Iowa had built a 23-0 lead by halftime. Indy would claw back with six points in the third and seven in the fourth, but the Iowa defense was simply too much for them on this day.
“I think this team was ready to take it to the next level,” said coach
Tim O’Donnell, whose team had made the playoffs for the previous five years and never made it to the AFC Championship. “I think we’re going to prove that we’re one of the best teams in the league.”
