The New York Jets eeked out a win over the Cincinnati Bengals by a score of 14-10. The Jets started many reserves in this one and played "OK," according to Coach McGregor.
The Jets were led on offense by Lamont Jordan who had the opportunity to carry the ball 19 times, for 79 yards and a touchdown. Sixth round draft choice, Brooks Bollinger surprised many when he came in mid way through the second quarter firing. Bollinger completed 15 of 24 passes for 123 yards. Bollinger through a beautiful long ball to Marcus Robinson that went for 56 yards but was called back for an ineligible receiver downfield. Bollinger is battling with Jamie Martin for the third quarterback position.
On defense the team was led by Sam Cowart who is flourishing at Middle Linebacker, Cowart finished the game with 12 tackles and his second interception of the preseason. First round draft choice, Boss Bailey recorded a sack and knocked down two of Carson Palmer's passes to help the defense bounce back from the thumping they took a week ago at Tampa.
The are home for New Orleans next week.
