East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) - The New York Jets have decided not to match the Washington Redskins' offer sheet to restricted free agent wide receiver Laveranues Coles, according to published reports.

According to Wednesday's New York Daily News and New York Post, the Jets will announce at a press conference on Wednesday that they will allow Coles to officially become a Redskin and accept the offer sheet, which is reported to be worth $35 million over seven years, including a $13 million signing bonus.

The club officially has until 4:00 PM Wednesday to determine whether they will match the offer sheet Coles signed last week with Washington.

The Jets will receive Washington's first round selection (13th overall) and the team's third round draft selection (75 overall) in April's draft as compensation. The Jets also have their own pick in the first round, which is No. 22.

The 25-year-old Coles, who played his college ball at Florida State, set career highs last season with 89 catches for 1,264 yards, an average of 14.2 yards per reception. He also caught five touchdown passes.

In his first two campaigns, the 5'11", 196-pounder had 81 receptions for 1,238 yards and eight touchdowns.
