the game

The game started out as another defensive battle, and punts enveloped the first quarter. In the second, the stars came out to shine. QB Allen Salinas started moving the troops. Both teams traded field goals, and midway through the second it was just 3-3. Eventually we'd find the endzone on a 26 yard touchdown pass to WR Russel Sailer, 10-3! Our defnese continued to stuff Iowa before the could move the ball far. On a tipped pass late in the half, Safety Lamar Birgnac came up with an interception and returned it 60 yards for the touchdown! 17-3 at the half!

We recieved the second half kickoff. QB Allen Salinas had been taking quite a number of hits today. One prime example was the 18 yard sack he took on the first play of the second half!

Determined to make up the yardage, he found WR Jimmy Parr for a 52 yard gain! He'd hit TE Norman DeLay for a 15 yard gain, and again for a 17 yard touchdown. 24-3.

For the rest of the afternoon, the same would continue. Salinas was really taking his share of sacks, but still passing like Joe Montana. Iowa wouldn't get into the endzone, and could only muster another field goal while we ran up the score.

Final Score: Indiana 45, Iowa 6
