Week 1
Al Coble RB Cincinnati @ Baltimore
The Bengals open the season with a game on the road in Baltimore. Cincinnati starts the season out on a poor note as a last minute TD gives the Ravens a come from behind victory. Al was held to just 85 yards rushing, though he did score once from 1 yard out. Final 23-17. A slow start, but it is early

Marty Gage RB Las Angeles vs. Chicago
In their first game in team history, the Blackings were hoping to get the franchise off to a good start. They were pleased with what they saw. Marty had 27 carries for 126 yards and a TD as LA scored 24 third quarter points in route to a 34-7 upset victory over the Bears. LA’s LB Brock Brock was named MVP. I wouldn’t normally mention a player other than the 5 men, but with a name like Brock Brock you just have to bring him up. His parents must have had a sick since of humor. The big down side to LA was that they lost 2 QBs in the first quarter of the game.

Antoine Preston DE Las Vegas @ Huntsville
This was a game that was all about defense. In the first Huntsville opened the scoring with an INT return for a TD. No one scored again until, on consecutive drives Las Vegas scored a TD and then the go ahead field goal. But the mighty Packers were able to line up for a 53 yard field goal with 39 seconds left in the game. The kick was good and the game went into OT. Once there little happened until Huntsville picked off another pass with just 3:06 left. This set up a 45 yard field goal to win the game. The Bombers played well, but they just could not put together enough to top one of the best clubs in the country.

Carlton Gomez DE Hartford @ St. Louis
Many are saying that this game marks the beginning of The Curse. Three times the Muskrats made it inside the 10. Three times they had to settle for 3. Perhaps if they had a decent running back, they might have been able to pick up a TD. As it is they lose 13-9. Carlton recorded half a sack and a tackle.

Percy Buchanan QB Washington vs. NY Giants
It is a rough day for Percy. He was able to complete 24 of 41 passes for 341 yards and 3 TDs, while throwing 1 pick. But there were 10 dropped passes For all intents and purposes, that was the difference between winning and losing. Washington falls 28-22 in OT.

Week 2
Al Coble RB Cincinnati 0-1 @ St. Louis 1-0
Al is once again held under 100 yards rushing, but he only had 16 carries which he used to run for 92 yards an a TD. By the second half things were well in hand for the Bengals and Al rested the rest of the game. The Bengals step past the Rams 30-10.

Marty Gage RB Las Angeles 1-0 vs. Buffalo 0-1
Marty is held under 100 yards as well, but he scored 2 TDs as the Blackwings waltz past the Bills 34-9. On 18 carries Marty had 91 yards rushing. When was the last time an expansion team made the playoffs? Of course when was the last time Marty was held out of the playoffs?

Antoine Preston DE Las Vegas0-1 vs. Kansas City 1-0
Another great Defensive game. The Bombers held KC to just 10 points in regulation. With time running out in the fourth and the scored tied Las Vegas was able to put together one last scoring drive to win the game. They kicked a 37 yard field goal with no time left on the clock to keep the game out of OT. 13-10 Las Vegas.

Carlton Gomez DE Hartford 0-1 @ Percy Buchanan QB Washington 0-1
With 32 seconds remaining Hartford takes a 3 point lead on a 12 yard TD pass. It looked like it was all over for Washington. But the kickoff was returned all the way to the Hartford 28. One pass later the ball was at the 15. It was a chip shop to sent the game into OT. Washington got the ball second and promptly moved into field goal range to win the game, 26-23. Carlton had a solid outing with 2 tackles, 2 assists and he was able to sack Percy once. But Percy was the star of the game. Even with pathetic receivers he was able to complete 23 of 30 for 286 yards and 3 TDs. Percy Buchanan is named MVP and offensive player of the week.
