Fortunately, the defense stands tall and MSU doesn't gain a yard in 3 plays. The Bulldog punter tries to drop the ball in, but the punt lands in the endzone...no harm, no foul. Neither of my turnovers thus far have resulted in points for Mississippi State.

We run our first counter play on first down, and Brewster nets 3 yards. We try option right on second down. The DE collapses on me, and I pitch quickly. A LB fills quickly, though, and Brewster is dropped for a yard loss. 3rd and 8 and I hit Everett on a fade route for 19. Play is momentarily stopped as a MSU defensive lineman appears seriously injured.

First down, and Brewster rumbles off right guard for 4. 2nd down and I short arm a pass to Witt. 3rd and 6 on the UT45 and we run up the middle with Brewster. It nets 3, and we're forced to punt again.

Wheeler trots out and drops a 39 yarder to the MSU returner at the 13. A fair catch is called at the 13 with 2 minutes left in the third quarter.
