The off week passes too quickly, and before I know it, it's Saturday again. The Game of the Week is Purdue vs. Ohio State, but we'll be watching MSU at South Carolina as well.

Ohio State beats Purdue 27-17, and MSU shocks #20 South Carolina, 28-14.

We may have a game on our hands, boys.

Mississippi State is 2-1. They started the season off with a loss to Virginia, but have rebounded with wins over Memphis and South Carolina.

Teams appear to have a better time passing than running on the Bulldogs, and that appears to be how the Cavaliers defeated them. South Carolina had 39 yards rushing; Memphis had 8. Third down percentage is the key to the Bulldog success, with just 27% conversion against their defense.

Something's got to give.

MSU has three very good linebackers which may present some problems for us. They also have a terrific corner and a good defensive tackle. I think this defense may be better than Syracuse's.

On the injury front, their top reserve defensive tackle will miss the game with an elbow injury. On the offense, their starting quarterback is questionable and a starting receiver is out.

It sounds like our defense may shut them out...so we may just need one or two scores in this game.
