Week 8 Training Results

We’ve returned to little more than running laps in practice this week, as we’ve finally gotten back to completing our conditioning training. We were unable to complete this portion of the training early in the season, due to form concerns among a number of players, and knew we would have to do it at some point during the season. This week seemed like as good a time as any.

What we got was a mixed bag of results, some good and some bad. First, the good (players who improved in their stamina ratings this week):

-Midfielder Gino Behling -> excellent (8)
-Forward German Galvez -> excellent (8)
-Wingback Mattias Leier -> excellent (8)
-Forward Guido Metman -> excellent (8)
-Midfielder Javier Tejeda -> excellent (8)
-Goalkeeper Cornelius “Corny” Jernigan -> solid (7)
-Defender Cameron “Big Mac” McDonald -> solid (7)
-Winger Ivan Richardy -> solid (7)
-Wingback Tyler Willard -> solid (7)
-Winger Reg Nichols -> passable (6)
-Winger Ad Taxwell -> passable (6)

Also worthy of note is winger Ad Taxwell, who improved to wretched (2) experience this week (after playing in a training match, no less).

Form Changes (The Bad News)

Three players improved their form this week:
-Midfielder Rune Kolberg -> passable (6)
-Wingback Tyler Willard -> passable (6)
-Wingback Ben McMahon -> weak (4)

Eleven players saw their form remain the same.

Eight players dropped in form this week:
-Defender Sven Svensson -> solid (7)
-Midfielder Milan Dufek -> passable (6)
-Wingback Arlen “Headcase” Lucas -> passable (6) (2 level drop)
-Defender Cameron McDonald -> passable (6)
-Winger Ivan Richardy -> passable (6)
-Midfielder Agustin Alustiza -> inadequate (5) (2 level drop)
-Wingback Mattias Leier -> inadequate (5)
-Forward German Galvez -> weak (4)

We knew that concentrating on conditioning would hurt our overall form this week, but we weren’t quite expecting it to be this bad. I guess the saving grace is that this is the last time we will need to go through this for the foreseeable future.

In The Zone

Arlen “Headcase” Lucas’ run at excellent (8) form has come to an end. The best form on the club is held by four different players in solid (7) form:

-Winger Walter Bosch
-Goalkeeper Cornelius “Corny” Jernigan
-Forward Guido Metman
-Defender Sven Svensson

Expect all four to see action in this Sunday’s league match against Big Reds.

Form Dog

Ben McMahon finally appears to be climbing out of the form gutter, leaving Forrest “Gump” Tobias as the only form dog this week, in poor (3) form yet again.
