We discussed with son about taking a gap year before going to grad school (he ultimately decided on no grad school). Told him to go see the world (on the cheap via backpacking & hostels), go work on a cruise line, get into a cooking program etc. but he wasn't allowed to stay at home and do nothing.
What is your kid thinking about doing?
