The desire to turn Luka into Lebron while turning Trae and Deandre Ayton into a couple of Darkos was always going to make the top of that draft interesting from an evaluation standpoint. I would have chosen Luka but I don't think the gap between Luka and Trae is that significant when it comes to building a potential championship team around them. It is funny that the current Luka sideshow comes after the Trae sideshow from late last year/early this year. Remember how much Trae's teammates reportedly hated him? Once again, I don't want to leave Ayton out of this conversation either. The growth he has shown as a player is amazing as well.
