Week 3 Training Results
Overall this week was another good one as far as training is concerned. Another one of our young midfielder finally showed a significant jump in their playmaking ability. We were somewhat surprised as to who it was, though:
Ad Taxwell
Jersey # 9
Position: Winger
18 years old, weak (4) form, healthy.
A sympathetic guy who is temperamental and honest.
Has disastrous (1) experience and poor (3) leadership abilities.
Nationality: English
Assessed Value: $122,000
Wage: $1,284 per week
Stamina: Inadequate (5)
Playmaking: Solid (7)
Winger: Solid (7)
Scoring: Poor (3)
Goaltending: Disastrous (1)
Passing: Poor (3)
Defending: Wretched (2)
Set Pieces: Poor (3)
Ad was a bit of a surprise. We would have expected some of our more highly-valued youngsters to show this sort of improvement before Ad would. But we’re certainly not going to complain.
Two of our players also showed significant gains in their experience levels this week. Arlen “Headcase” Lucas moved to poor (3) experience, and everyone’s favorite winger Reg Nichols improved to wretched (2) experience.
Form Changes
For the 2nd week in a row, 8 players saw their form improve this week:
-Wingback Tyler Willard -> excellent (8)
-Goalkeeper Cornelius “Corny” Jernigan -> solid (7)
(always nice to see)
-Defender Cameron “Big Mac” McDonald -> solid (7)
-Winger Ivan Richardy -> solid (7)
-Midfielder Milan Dufek -> passable (6)
-Forward Guido Metman -> passable (6)
-Goalkeeper Darryl Read -> passable (6)
-Forward Forrest “Gump” Tobias -> passable (6)
(a 2 level increase for the 2nd week in a row!)
11 players saw their form remain the same this week.
3 players dropped in form this week:
-Forward Johannes Henriksson -> passable (6)
-Midfielder Rune Kolberg -> weak (4)
-Wingback Ben McMahon -> wretched (2)
Obviously this was another excellent week for us, form-wise, and the team’s form curve continues to rise quickly. This is extremely good news for a couple of reasons.
First, we need to conduct a third week of stamina training, in order to complete the stamina improvements for our new midfielders. We’ve been waiting for form to rise in order to do this, but were expecting have to wait a little longer. It is quite likely that we will be conducting that conditioning training in the next week or two.
Second, Forrest “Gump” Tobias has become a legitimate option for us at forward once again. Up to now, we’ve basically been working with only three forwards. Now we have a complete rotation of four that we are comfortable with.
In The Zone
For the first time this season, we have a player who has reached excellent (8) form. That player is wingback Tyler Willard.
I actually pity anyone trying to score against our starting defensive four right now. Check this out:
Goalkeeper Cornelius “Corny” Jernigan: solid (7) form
Wingback Arlen “Headcase” Lucas: solid (7) form
Defender Cameron “Big Mac” McDonald: solid (7) form
Wingback Tyler Willard: excellent (8) form
Form Dog
Reserve wingback Ben McMahon remains the club’s form dog this week, and has dropped down to wretched (2). It is highly unlikely that Ben will see the pitch until we have been removed from the U.S. Open Cup.
