As much as I know... I spent my life studying science. I was not a teacher (at least not that had been stated) nor was I in private practice. I know that I have profound skill at science and great skill with engineering as well so I can only assume that it means many years and many different areas of study. Not much to go on I know but it's all I have. For what it is worth I think my scientific and engineering skill would come in handy for the colony, especially as a leader. I completely understand the hesitancy in most categories but this is what we've been given.
