The issue that we have is due to federal government mandates, kids have to go to school a certain number of days per year by June 30th. So even if they add in more snow days here, they have to make them up at some point.

Many of the schools here do not have the best air conditioning so going to school earlier in August is just not safe either. As it is each year seems to be a delicate balance of trying to figure out when they will fit in that school.

The recent trend when we have super snowy winters is that they start talking about taking back holiday weeks such as spring vacation.
