The per year isn't that bad, AJ Burnett just got basically the same amount. Its the years that are the scary part of a deal like that IMO. There is no way you can count on a guy staying healthy for that long a stretch.

Just can't judge baseball contracts on per year because ultimately they aren't. I would never sign a pitcher for more than three years. I know I would lose out on the great ones but just too dangerous in my opinion.
