For those who find the Georgia troubles so perplexing, here's what seems to be developing:
A lot of schools started sending kids home early about the same time people were being released from work early. Instant rush hour, with the addition of both buses and snow/ice.
edit to add: DOT spokesman said they had relatively few seriously icy patches on the interstates right now but the trucks can't get anywhere near 'em to salt them. Virtual gridlock on the highway (as every rush hour is) and those trucks don't exactly zip in & out of traffic. Emergency lanes are clogged with abandoned cars, wrecks, etc.
