Patriots Rally Late, Beat Dogs In OT 27-24
A touchdown pass from Owen Hunter with just 1:03 left to play in the game tied the contest for New England, and the Patriots advanced on a 29 yard field goal from kicker Randal Sterne.
Cincinnati QB Joe Cabot put up big numbers in the losing effort, completing 30 of 44 passes for 354 yards and 2 TDs. For the Patriots, QB Owen Hunter was 23 of 37 for 317 yards, 2 TDs, and 1 INT.
Avengers Beat Jaguars 28-18
Jacksonville backup QB Mark Brunell passed for 328 yards and 1 TD in his first career playoff start, but the Jaguars were unable to overcome Arkham.
Avengers QB Azathoth was 24 of 38 for 242 yards and 2 TDs. RB J.T. Carpenter rushed 16 times for 79 yards and 1 TD.
Redskins Stomp Banthas 37-9
It'll be a long trip back to Mos Eisley for the Banthas, as they were only able to score 3 field goals in Washington.
Banthas QB Bo Guffey was 19 of 34 for 314 yards, and threw 2 interceptions - both of which were returned for TDs. RB Princess Leia was chained up all day - carrying the ball 21 times but managing only 57 yards.
The Force was with Redskins RB John Riggins, who carried 17 times for 120 yards (7.0 YPC) and 1 TD. QB Sonny Jurgenson was 20 of 32 for 260 yards and 1 TD.
Niners Lose To Brawlers 22-26
Brawlers RB Seymore Butz ran all over the 49ers, racking up 141 yards and 2 TDs on 26 carries. His teammate Al Coholic threw for 280 yards and 1 TD as Moe's Tavern sent San Francisco home for the holidays.
Niners QB Joe Montana was 21 of 42 for 218 yards, 1 TD, and 1 INT. RB Roger Craig was effective, and argued after the game that he should have gotten the ball more. He had 88 yards on 19 carries and 2 TDs.
