I don't think there's any way Gary Clark falls to #5, and I can't negotiate anything reasonable with New Orleans for the #1 pick. I'm going to have to wait and hope he falls a spot or two.
New Orleans makes an incomprehensible pick - they select CB Brock Harvey from NC State. Granted, Harvey is a great talent, but the Saints are loaded on defense, and weak on offense.
Buffalo picks second, and they're willing to deal. I send them the #30 pick, next year's #1, and 2007's 1st and 2nd round picks, in addition to QB Kevin Murray. Murray will be happier as a starter in Buffalo, I get my elite WR, and the picks I send them shouldn't be very high, if this trade works out.
With the #5 pick overall, I select G Erik Flamebeard. He gives the Redskins some much-needed help on the OL.
In round 2, I take ILB Trey Merkins. He's a steal at that pick, and since I'm running a 3-4 defense, I need all the LB help I can get.
In round 3, I select QB Shaun Morabito from Western Michigan. Ward will probably be available as an undrafted free agent, and Morabito looks like a better pro prospect right now.
