Haven't We Seen This Before? Montana Stuns Cowboys in Double OT

It was a game for the ages. San Francisco had a 21 point lead late in the 3rd quarter, when the Cowboys came roaring back. Touchdown runs by Jerry Norris and Emmitt Smith, along with a Roger Staubach TD pass to Daryl Johnston capped one of the most exciting comebacks in playoff history.

It was all for naught. Forty-niners QB Joe Montana hit RB Roger Craig from 6 yards out for the winning touchdown in double overtime, making the final score 34-28.

Dallas Kicker Mark Mosely was 0-3, including a missed 46 yard attempt in the first overtime period. He was not seen boarding the plane with the team back to Texas. Cowboys draft Redskins legend... Redskins legend misses three FG's in playoff game. Coincidence?

Emmitt Smith had 27 carries for 126 yards and one touchdown. Roger Staubach was 24-40 for 285 yards, 2 TD's, and 2 INT's - one of which was returned 56 yards for a touchdown.

Game MVP Joe Montana went 28-51 for 299 yards, 3 TD's, and one INT. Roger Craig had 84 yards on 36 carries and one rushing TD.

More OT Heroics! Moon Leads Oilers In Amazing Comeback Win Over Patriots!

In a striking contrast to his fellow Texan counterpart, Houston Kicker Reggie Byerly was 3 for 3, including a 40 yard kick as time expired to cap a 14 point comeback by the Oilers and send the game into overtime.

Hoston won the toss in overtime and drove the ball 84 yards to paydirt, capping the drive with an 11 yard pass from Warren Moon to Drew Hill.

Game MVP Moon was 27 for 43 for 353 yards, 3 TD's, and one INT.

The Patriots did a great job limiting Oilers RB Earl Campbell, holding him to 30 yards on 16 attempts, but they had no solution for the run-and-shoot attack commanded by Moon.

New England QB Owen Hunter was 21 for 31 for 290 yards and 1 TD. Patriots RB Van Kangas had 112 yards on 27 carries and one TD. Kicker Randal Sterne was 3 for 3.

The final score was 30-24.

Even MORE OT Madness! Browns Torpedo Dolphins.

With 1:48 left in the game, Miami stretched their lead to 7 with a 55 yard field goal from K Kelvin Chitwood, and the Dolphins appeared poised to do the unthinkable - win a playoff game in the snow.

But with just 36 seconds left in regulation, Browns QB Dave Brown capped a heroic late drive and hit RB Jim Brown for a 4 yard touchdown pass to send the game into overtime.

Neither team was able to score with three OT posessions, but the Browns finally clinched the victory with a 50 yard field goal by K Wendell Carswell.

Miami RB Ricky Williams had 84 yards rushing on 28 carries and one TD. QB Dan Marino was 26-41 for 236 yards, 1 TD, and 1 INT.

Cleveland RB Jim Brown had 134 yards on 30 carries. Game MVP QB Dave Brown was 41-59 for 395 yards, 2 TD's, and 1 INT.

The final score was 26-23

What? No OT? Maroons Nip Lions In Last Minute - 24-23

With just 34 seconds remaining, the St. Louis Maroons continued their title defense with a three yard pass from Bucky Richardson to Leeland McElroy.

The game featured a 66 yard punt return for a touchdown by Lions WR Mel Gray, who was enjoying his first game back from a broken leg. Gray also had 6 catches for 111 yards. Backup Lions QB Tommy Sinclair was 22-34 for 280 yards and 1 TD, but star RB Barry Sanders couldn't take up the slack - rushing for just 22 yards on 13 carries.

Game MVP Bucky Richardson was 30-44 for 377 yards, 3 TDs, and 1 INT. McElroy had 63 yards on 17 carries.
