I remember the charges were shady because they were pushed by one of his competitors or former partners or something and he got rung by system. He got beaten in jail or something and has brain damage from it, and is also on house arrest. Not sure the full story, but from the articles, these conventions...and what goes on behind the scenes...is pretty weird.
