Solecismic came about one night when I was choosing an AOL screen ID back in '95. I was joining in a literary trivia group, and puns were in vogue for user names. So a grammar error about the word solecism seemed funny at the time. Later, when I needed a company name, I was advised to use a made-up word.
Remind me never to visit hyperdictionary - never even heard of that version.
