Look at Consumer Reports.
For $700+ you can get a nice Weber like my mom has.
For ~$200 you can get a nice Brinkmann (Home Depot house brand) like I have, that's the same size as my mom's and does awesome.

For what it's worth, my mom got the one Consumer Reports recommended last year for the high price range. I got the one they recommended for the low price range. I'm very happy with mine.
