DT: For the pitching, here's the tip:
You should FINISH the motion right when it hits the circle (let's take the screwball for example, which is left-downleft-down-down-right-right, I believe)
You make the first part of the motion (to the left), hold for a split second, and run the rest of the command in a smooth motion, finishing up at right, hopefully when the meter is at max.
Same with a simpler pitch.. fastball (down-up). Press down.. wait for the meter to fill, and move up, finishing when the meter hits max.
Of course, as you tire, the window for inputting the commands lessens...
