The blues are fairly big here (so are the White Stripes). It's just more to do with my musical tastes I guess. To my ears, a group needs to be either strong with melody or technically pretty "creative" ("unusual" might be a better word) to catch my attention. Blues of the kind the White Stripes play doesn't really fit into either of those categories. I do like a few other groups that dabble in the blues though.
