DK, I think what DukeRulesMAB is say is to throw your YP in the defensive slot that is missing because even on the wing defense matters and since he is only 17 he should be able to get at least on level before the end of the season and maybe 2 depending on when you are out of the cup and how high of a weak defender is. That way, he will be really well rounded.

I understand that. I just think it is more beneficial to bring in a "real" defensive recruit for the remainder of the season, train him, and sell him off at the end of the season, rather than boost Reg's defensive abilities a bit.
