My point is I don't follow your original connection between "team saves tens of millions because of the bonds" and "team spends big money on contracts." They would be spending that money regardless of whether or not they had to pay those taxes.
Whether or not the teams should be contributing less tax revenue than they could be in a time when the city is short of tax revenue is a separate debate. And I don't see where that blame doesn't first go to the city.
