When you win the national title, there are a lot of good things to say.- Our rushing game broke school records in carries, yards, and average
- Our completion percentage (62%) is a new school record
- Passing yards-per-attempt (9.5) is a new school record
- points-per-game rose 6.1 to 37.1 ppg this year, second best in school history
- rushing touchdowns jumped way up, from 16 to 27 (a new school best)
- we held opponents to 6.34 yards per passing attempt (new school record)
Criticisms
While this might be largely nit-picking, some of it is worth noting.- We threw more interceptions, and turned the ball over more than last season.
- Our 34 sacks were the lowest since 2004.
The team became well-rounded on offense this year, adding our best running attack ever to an already solid passing game. Defensively we're feeling the loss of depth on the defensive line, we need some new blood there. Still winning it all gives you less to complain about, especially when we should be returning 15 of 22 starters.
