The first BCS poll has been released, showing which teams are in contention for the national championship. A surprising new face sits atop the rankings, Rutgers University! Perennial challengers Ohio State and Texas are in a good position to reach the national title game, but the Big East conference may be in the driver's seat. Rutgers tough schedule has put them atop the rankings, but two monumental games remain. A trip to #10 Virgina Tech and a week 13 Rutgers at Syracuse matchup. If Rutgers can survive Virginia Tech, then the Rutgers/Syracuse winner will most likely finish the regular season as the #1 team in the power polls. The looming Michigan-Ohio State battle also will have an enormous impact on the shape of the national title hunt. This season will also quite possibly end with 3 undefeated squads, meaning someone will be left out of the national championship picture. Here are the rankings top 10 teams:
