Coaching News

After our impressive 4 year run, my career coaching record is back above .500 (58-57). Despite my turning around one of the worst programs in recent history, and 4 consecutive bowl wins (including one BCS bowl), I have yet to be offered another coaching position. I don't care though, I wont even consider leaving until I'm hoisting a national championship trophy over my head. I do recieve some bad news this offseason, as Gerald Hatcher has retired from his position of scout (Northwest region). I've just realized that this news is acutally meaningless since I cannot yet recruit any state in that region. so-long Gerry.

National Coaching Scene
The league sees some fairly heavy turnover this year:
  • Texas-El Paso has hired Darrell Prescott from Auburn as its new head coach.
  • Florida State has hired Wayne Schroeder from San Diego State as its new head coach.
  • Brigham Young has hired Monty Crackel from Oklahoma as its new head coach.
  • Purdue has hired J.B. Kohn from Louisiana Tech as its new head coach.
  • Tennessee has hired Brent Fragomeni from Mililani Town as its new head coach.
  • Mililani Town has hired Billy Joe Holguin as its new head coach.
  • Louisiana Tech has hired Wesley Campana as its new head coach.
  • San Diego State has hired Ernie Sippio as its new head coach.
  • Auburn has hired Antonio Schwartz as its new head coach.
  • Oklahoma has hired Nick Joyner as its new head coach.

2011 Coach of the Year
Sammie Blair of Texas has been named Coach of the Year for his performance this past season. He led the Longhorns to their 5th national title in the last 10 years. His all-time record is a mind-blowing 122-7.
