Yankees- big market
Diamondbacks- broke up the team
Angels- big market
Marlins- split the team up ( same as 1997)
Red Sox- big market
White Sox- big market
Cards- big market
We have repeatedly seen teams sell of or trade good young players because they can not afford them. You can't really say there isn't an imbalance.
