Interestingly, there are all sorts of things you can see in the UK children's cover...
Spoiler
You can see a house-elf
(edit: or something)
cowering behind Harry holding what looks like Gryffindor's sword. You also see a bunch of armor including a helmet with rubies and a dragon or a phoenix. You can see what might be Hufflepuff's cup. The kids' arms are all banged up (lots of cuts). There's a lot of gold, so I assume it's Gringotts. The front flap of the UK versions has text (not on the US version) and the children's version also has a stag (Harry's patronus). The front flap text says: "Harry has been burdened with a dark, dangerous and seemingly impossible task: that of locating and destroying Voldemort's remaining Horcruxes. Never has Harry felt so alone, or faced a future so full of shadows. But Harry must somehow find within himself the strength to complete the task he has been given. He must leave the warmth, safety and companionship of The Burrow and follow without fear or hesitation the inexorable path laid out for him..." The children's back cover also has a glass orb thing with what looks like intertwined serpents that's reflecting a window. It's very odd.
Pottercast just pointed out that there is a "rune" or something on the spine of the UK children's cover. I don't know what to make of that.
The US edition's cover looks a lot like Harry and Voldemort are battling in a colleseum or on a stage.
Wow, people are going to have a field day with theories until the book comes out...I can't wait!
