A good example from my blog sim is Pete Rose. Rose spend virtually all of the 1970's in my sim playing second base for the Reds, despite the fact he was an outfielder and third baseman during that time period in real life. The reason was the Reds did not acquire Joe Morgan from Houston in this sim so there was a need at second base.

If I understand correctly, that's great news.
So, it's possible that someone like Smoltz could stay as a starting pitcher beyond when he did in real life? If in the sim, the team he's on needs starting pitching and the game converts him to a reliever, the AI can convert him back the next day and would basically keep doing that every recalculation period until it determines he's more valuable as a reliever than he would be as a starter?
