#14 Indiana (6-0) (-21) at Penn State (2-5)

We don't get our first score until 1:10 in the first quarter, a 28-yd FG by Cash. 3-0, Indiana. The Nittany Lions are playing inspired football on defense and also make some plays offensively which is keeping the game close. However, we get lucky as OLB Jeans make an interception at our own 5-yd line and races 95 yds for the touchdown! 10-0, Indiana, at 10:35 in the second quarter. On Penn State's next drive they get a big play on their own - a Salley run for 42 yds and a touchdown - 10-7, Indiana, at 6:10 in the 2nd.

Gaines and Wittich start to work on a drive which ends in a 38-yd FG by Cash. 13-7, Indiana, at 1:06. At halftime we have 8 first downs, 42 rushing yds and 95 passing yds, and we're actually outgained by the home team, which has 8 first downs, 90 rushing yds and 115 passing yds. A bad punt by Penn State gives us a short field to work with, and we turn that opportunity into 6 points as Wittich was stuffed on the two-point conversion. 19-7, Indiana. Wittich run three times for 45 yds on the next drive and plunges into the end zone himself for another 7 points and a 19-point lead at 26-7 and 5:25 in the 3rd quarter.

But there's still some fight left in the Penn State team - they drive the length of the field and score on a 18-yd TD pass, making it 26-14 going into the final quarter. We make a statement with a 71-yd drive and another touchdown by Wittich which restore our lead to 19 points with 7:43 left to play, 33-14. The Lions' defense has been worn down by the relentless running of Wittich and we're moving the ball easily now. Niklos scores on a 5-yd run and we're up by 40-14 with 2:05 left.
