Time to take a look back at the 1913 draft (somewhere on page one is the 1911 and 1912 drafts, and I will periodically do this for all the draft classes)

St. Louis (A) pick: LF Babe Ruth - Babe played almost his entire career in LA and then with the Giants. He batted .298 in his career and hit 584 career homeruns. He also has 1,922 RBI, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame. He was the first true power hitter in baseball. He also won 8 Ty Cobb Awards.

Chicago (A) pick: P Dan Sherman - Dan ended up playing his productive years in Brooklyn and then with the Giants. His career record is 184-136 with a 3.01 ERA.

Pittsburgh pick: P Katsy Keifer - Katsy played with Pittsburgh for about 10 years then moved on to the Giants and then finally Atlanta. His career record is 235-255 and he has a 4.08 career ERA.

Boston (N) pick: P Dan Marion - Dan played for the Braves franchise in Boston, then in Atlanta and finally in Dallas. He was the epitome of their losing ways back then, being the 4th overall pick and amassing a career record of 84-145 with a career ERA of 4.45.

Washington pick: P Guy Morton - Guy had a very productive year, mostly with the Senators. His career record is 278-270 with a career ERA of 3.19. He won the 1928 Cy Young Award. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Philadelphia (N) pick: P Dave Davenport - Daveplayed mainly for the Phillies and had a 223-264 career record with a 3.77 ERA.

New York (A) pick: P George Kaiserling - George has no record in baseball history.

St. Louis (N) pick: P Mike Prendergast - Mike had a pretty short career, with a 55-43 career record and a 3.63 ERA.

Brooklyn pick: CF Harry Heilmann - Harry had a long, productive career with Brooklyn and then the A’s. His career batting average is .273, and he hit 282 career homeruns. He has 2,642 career hits and 1,460 RBI.

Detroit pick: P Erv Lange - Erv’s most productive years were with the Red Sox. His career record is 202-201 and his ERA is 3.79. He was an All-Star 5 times.

Cincinnati pick: P Dolf Luque - Dolf played mostly with Cincinnati, and was never successful. His career record is 53-87 with a 5.09 ERA.

Chicago (N) pick: P Max Fiske - Max played for the Cubs and the Waves. His career record is 135-119 with a 3.90 ERA. He was an All-Star in 1924.

New York (N) pick: P John Mcgraw - John was probably the first MR ever drafted in the first round. He played for 6 teams in his career and had an ERA of 3.39. He was a 5 time All-Star.

Philadelphia (A) pick: P Henry Benn - Another MR, who played with the A’s and the Westerners. He has an ERA of 2.49 and was a 2 time All-Star.

Boston (A) pick: P Rankin Johnson - Rankin had a short career, and his record is 71-77 with an ERA of 4.22. He was an All-Star in his rookie year, but never reached that level again.

Cleveland pick: P Ben Tincup - Ben has no baseball record.
