Week 4 Training Results
This week, the two defensive trainees that we have been expecting to step up did so. Both Cameron McDonald and Mattias Leier improved in their defensive abilities.
Cameron McDonald
Jersey # 18
18 years old, weak (4) form, healthy.
A pleasant guy who is temperamental and honest.
Has disastrous (1) experience and wretched (2) leadership abilities.
Specialty: Head
Nationality: American
Assessed Value: $99,000
Wage: $1,000 per week
Stamina: Weak (4)
Playmaking: Weak (4)
Winger: Poor (3)
Scoring: Weak (4)
Goaltending: Disastrous (1)
Passing: Weak (4)
Defending: Excellent (8)
Set Pieces: Poor (3)
Cameron has a ton of talent, but his form has been considerably lacking since his promotion from the youth squad a month ago. If he shows some improvement soon, he will probably be considered the heir-apparent to Chuck Scales starting spot on the defensive line. But if not, I will have to consider letting him go. The revenue from the sale of a young defender of his caliber would help us considerably in other areas.
Mattias Leier
Jersey # 17
19 years old, passable (6) form, healthy.
A popular guy who is calm and honest.
Has disastrous (1) experience and weak (4) leadership abilities.
Nationality: Estonian
Assessed Value: $101,000
Wage: $1,104 per week
Stamina: Passable (6)
Playmaking: Poor (3)
Winger: Passable (6)
Scoring: Poor (3)
Goaltending: Disastrous (1)
Passing: Weak (4)
Defending: Solid (7)
Set Pieces: Weak (4)
Mattias is the most promising of our young wingbacks, and it’s nice to see him finally take the next step. However, it is unlikely that he will replace Tyler Willard as one of our starting wingbacks any time soon.
Form Changes
9 players increased in form this week (including 6 starters
).
11 players saw their form remain the same.
2 players dropped a level in form (including Johannes Henriksson)
Overall, we had the best week of training so far this season, and the team’s average form rose considerably, which is nice to see. The only down-side if team captain Johannes Henriksson, who continues to struggle.
In The Zone
Midfielder Niklas Ivarsson continues to play excellent soccer, and is joined by last season’s Team MVP winner, wingback Arlen Lucas. Aside from a small one week dip, Arlen has been in solid (7) or better form since the middle of January. Now
that’s what I call good base-form.
Form Dog
We have three players who are really struggling at the moment, in weak (4) form. Two of them are on the b-team; the aforementioned Cameron McDonald and Romanian midfielder Lucian Tere. The third is a cause for real concern, as team captain Johannes Henriksson has dropped to weak form as well this week. The Swedish striker hasn’t played this poorly since September, and we’re hoping that he will snap out of his slump soon. Our offense needs all the help it can get.
