MAJOR LEAGUE PERFORMANCES OF NOTE/LINEUP CHANGES/ROTATION CHANGES:
The pitching staff lowered its ERA even more, by 12 points, to 3.60 (6th). Of course, Adams’ no-no leads the way. He only allowed one baserunner, a walk. For the month, Adams was 4-2, 1.92. Lopez was solid in the #5 slot: 3-1,2.91. The ‘pen remains stellar overall. The HIGHEST bullpen ERA we have at the moment is Brandl’s 3.65. Castonguay is now 4th in ERA (2.30), 2nd in wins (17), and 6th in K’s (173). Tito Galarza of SF (3rd ERA, 1st W’s and K’s) stands in his way for the Cy Young Award though.

The offense continues to be strong as well. We’re 3rd in runs scored. Wuest continues his very strong season, putting up a .946 OPS. Mangan also has a star-caliber month, with a .902 OPS.

PLAYER DEVELOPMENT:
Quote:
Monday 8/15/2005:
Benjamin Lopez seems to have improved his pure stuff!

Monday 8/22/2005:
James Wuest has lost some power...
Raphael Perez has worked out more, his duration raises to B ...
Lopez is now Good/Good/Good,6/6/7, vying for a more permanent rotation spot….Wuest drops to Good/Good/Brl….Perez is a AA pitcher who appears to have very little hope…
