League Outlook

Houston had a good year, for them, and their FI has gone up significantly. They are out of danger for now. Syracuse’s FI dropped another point or two, but their financial situation is still excellent. Hopefully they will sign a few impact players and begin to compete.

Brooklyn’s years of being out of contention at the All-Star break are starting to catch up with them. They profits took a hit, and their FI has dipped significantly. We are keeping an extremely close eye on them for the next couple seasons.

Free Agency, of Note

A pretty weak crop of free agents this year. A couple good hitters and 1 or two good pitchers.

The Red Sox sign the best SP this season, as they try to get over the hump, after coming so darn close the last two years. Bruce Cunningham (8-9-7) signs on for 6 seasons.

The Waves take a chance on 38 year old Dutch Ulrich (8-9-6). They signed him for 3 years.

Detroit signs the best hitter available in LF Joe Medwick (8-6-6). He signs for 4 years.

Houston inks RF Ernie Orsatti (7-3-4) to a 5 year deal.
