1937 Regular Season Recap

In the AL East we had a one game playoff for the second straight year to determine the division champion. Boston was again involved in the game, and this year it was Montreal to be their opponent. Montreal won the game on their home field and will be the first expansion to qualify for the playoffs. Boston loses the 1 game playoff for the 2nd consecutive year.

In the AL West, the defending champion LA Waves lead the division for the first half of the season, but the Detroit Tigers pulled away in the second half and easily won the division by 8 games.

In the NL East, it was the New York Giants from day 1 to the last day. They lead most of the season by at least 10 games over Pittsburgh.

In the NL Midwest, the St. Louis Cardinals led from start to finish, usually by a working margin fo about 6 games.


1937 LCS Recaps

The Detroit Tigers needed 6 games to get by the upstart Montreal Capitals.

The New York Giants took just 5 games to move on to the World Series.


1937 World Series Recap

Detroit won the World Series in 6 games to claim their second title. Their first was in 1920. The Giants failed to win their 4th title. Their last came in 1922.
