April

The Los Angeles Wave open up a 2 game lead in the first month of the season with a 18-10 record. The Highlanders and the White Sox are both just 2 games out. In the NL, the Giants start out with a 18-10 record as well, but 3 teams are within 3 games. The Reds, Phillies and Cardinals.

May

The Waves have faded and the San Francisco White Sox have taken over first place with a 37-19 record. They are 4 games better than the Tigers and 6 better than the Waves. In the NL, the Giants are clinging to a 1 game lead with a 33-23 record. The Cardinals are 1 out and the Reds are 2 back. The Phillies are hanging around, only 4 games back.

June

The White Sox extend their lead to 6 games with a 53-28 record. The Tigers are in 2nd place and the Naps are 8 games back in third. In the NL, the Cardinals have moved into first place with a 47-34 record, while the Giants are 2 back and the Cubs are 3 back.

In the All-Star game, the NL won 5-2. Dan Sherman won the MVP award pitching 3 innings and allowing just 1 hit.

July

The San Francisco White Sox are just running away with the AL. They are 71-36 and are 11 games better than the Tigers. In the NL, the Cards are starting to pull away, owning a 7 game lead on the defending champion Giants.

August

Pencil the White Sox into the World Series. They have a 11 game lead still. In the NL, the Giants are trying to make it interesting. While the Cards still lead, their lead has been cut down to 5 games.

September 14, 1923

The White Sox have clinched. The Cardinals are on a tear and are 11 games up and will be clinching any day now. So the Series is St. Louis and San Francisco.

World Series

The White Sox take games 1 and 2 on their home field to take a 2-0 Series lead.

They also take games 3 and 4 in St. Louis and just dominate the Series from start to finish to claim their first World Title. Obviously, the move out of Chicago was a good one for the White Sox.

Champion Review

The White Sox begin with terrific pitching. Claude Hendrix went 28-11 with a 3.32 ERA. Byron Houck went 28-7 wit a 3.99 ERA. Colonel Snover went 21-13 with a 4.23 ERA. Rude Marquard is also on the staff, which give the Sox 3 Cy Young winners.

3B Russ Whitestone is one of the best pure hitters in the league. He batted .383 and hit 8 homeruns. LF Ken Williams batted .318 and hit a team leading 23 homeruns. 1B George Burns hit .321 with 11 homers.

League Outlook

Atlanta is the only team with sagging revenue and fan interest. The situation is becoming more and more serious. MLB would hate to move this franchise once again though.

Free Agency, of Note

It is a huge market for teams needing a bat or two. Babe Ruth, Cy Williams and Tris Speaker are all free agents!

In addition to those batter, the New York Giants sign the best pitcher on the market, Katsy Keifer (B/G/G). The Giants have a knack for going after and getting the best talent in the league.

The Waves may have let Babe Ruth go, but they replace him with Cy Williams, a Best Batter Award Winner himself. He is B/A/B.

Not only Williams, but Tris Speaker is also signed by the Waves. Tris also has won multiple Best Batter Awards and is rated (B/P/F)

After spending his entire career with the Waves franchise (started as the St. Louis Browns), 29 year old Babe Ruth signed a 5 year deal with the New York Giants!
