Week 2 Training Results

In what continues to be a disappointing trend, none of our defenders showed any marked improvement this week. Trainees Mattias Leier and Cameron McDonald, both of whom are expected to take a “step up” soon, have refrained from doing so.

Form Changes

3 players improved in form this week (including winger Ben McMahon)
14 players saw their form remain the same.
5 players dropped in form this week (including Johannes Henriksson and Charlie Bautista)

Another poor week of training, which saw the average form of the team drop. I’m at a loss for how to explain it. Just some lousy luck on our part, I suppose. This team’s form and performance is nowhere near what it was at this point last season.

In The Zone

The good news is that midfielder Niklas Ivarsson continues to play some of the best soccer of his life. Also in top form is substitute midfielder Jerry Smith, who may very well see the field this Sunday against Croats in Miami.

Form Dog

Newcomer Cameron McDonald continues to disappoint in practice as well as on the pitch, and has dropped to poor (3) form this week. Folks around the front office are hoping and praying that this is just a slump, as Cameron gets used to playing at the professional level, and not an indicator of lousy base-form.

Value

Average Player Value: $116,045 (+$1,590)
Total Player Value: $2,553,000 (+$35,000)

Up Next: This week’s youth squad promotion as well as the financial update on Saturday evening. After that, we’re on the road again, as we travel to Miami to take on the league-leading Croats. Stay tuned!
