Hi guys!

mauchow 05-10-2011 09:16 PM

Huh?

The Jackal 05-10-2011 09:19 PM

Now, here's the fun part!

For the day two voting, you are not allowed to vote for someone in this thread. You may only vote for someone who has been split.

mckerney 05-10-2011 09:20 PM

Are we allowed to read the new posts in the other thread?

The Jackal 05-10-2011 09:20 PM

Room choices to come shortly.

No, please stay in this thread only for today.

mauchow 05-10-2011 09:23 PM

That's wild ass shit dude.

Umm ... I want my mommy!

The Jackal 05-10-2011 09:23 PM

Before any questions are asked, you will be getting the same room options as the other thread.

The Jackal 05-10-2011 09:26 PM

There are three door options.

The first is yellow, has the letter Z and a number sequence: 1 5 4 2 4 4 1 4 6 1

The second is brown, has the letter F and a number sequence: 5 7 5 5 2 2 9 7 8 7

The third is maroon, has the letter T and a number sequence: 6 1 8 6 6 3 8 5 4 9

The Jackal 05-10-2011 09:27 PM

(I understand this has taken a crazy confusing turn, feel free to ask questions via PM or in the thread. The game is the same for day two except you can only vote to lynch someone in the opposite thread, and you are not allowed to read that thread today)

mckerney 05-10-2011 09:27 PM

I'm going to guess we're in here with one team of wolves while the other team is in the next thread. Any wolves want to let us know if that theory is right or wrong?

mauchow 05-10-2011 09:32 PM

I wonder if it has to do with the way we voted for door..

I am headed to bed and will catch up in the morning..,

Telle 05-10-2011 09:33 PM

Well this is... different.

Telle 05-10-2011 09:34 PM

Btw, Jackal, could you be so kind as to provide us with a list of who we're allowed to vote for?

The Jackal 05-10-2011 09:35 PM

dwardzala 05-10-2011 09:37 PM

dwardzala 05-10-2011 09:40 PM

Brown is New Mexico which includes Roswell.

Maroon is Illinois

The first, yellow, is not an area code. However, 154 numbers have been reported to the database as numbers which have called for business reasons.

Looks like my Phone # theory may not hold up. That is sad, i was hoping I had nailed it on day 1.

Abe Sargent 05-10-2011 09:51 PM

The Jackal question:

Who gets voted off today, the person with the most votes, OVERALL, or the person with the most votes in each thread?

Abe Sargent 05-10-2011 09:53 PM

154 reports, despite it not being either US or Canada area code.

Error. Unknown variable.

Abe Sargent 05-10-2011 09:57 PM

Okay, I think it behooves us to have a consensus candidate that we all vote for, rather than splitting our votes. Just in case the top candidate among both threads is the one that is offed.

Abe Sargent 05-10-2011 09:59 PM

One thing that sucks is that I can;t look back at the old thread to see if anyone lied about which door they would choose. That's pretty interesting if they did. I would want to push them and see if I can find someone tripping up.

MrBug708 05-10-2011 09:59 PM

Ok...wow...what?

Abe Sargent 05-10-2011 09:59 PM

Alright, time for a manbath, and thn watching Dr. Who. See you folkses laters.

MrBug708 05-10-2011 10:01 PM

Is it worth talking about the room we picked?

Abe Sargent 05-10-2011 10:01 PM

B4 I go, the Jackal, can you repost the rules of the game in this thread, so we can look back at them?

The Jackal 05-10-2011 10:05 PM

here you go Abe, the first post from the other thread:

Game will be based around this movie. Each day will take place in a different room of the Cube, and starting N1, everyone will have the chance to vote on which direction to move in. Some rooms may be tame, other may be infused with bull moose specials! But each room will have a specific way of destroying the lynch victim. Irrelevant to roles, simply flavor.

Single deadline will either be 9 or 10 PM EST, can be voted on or I'll just decide. Lynch votes and night actions due at that time.

No lynch is an option, but I wouldn't recommend it. The Cube doesn't like no victims. Go ahead and piss off the Cube. See what happens.

In the case of tie votes, no one will know how the Cube will react. It may depend on how that particular room of the Cube is feeling.

----------

This game is going to be a little different than normal. There is not going to be a seer, or a regular night kill mechanism. There will be three factions, one village team and two separate wolf teams that do not know each other.

Victory conditions:
Village: Minor - Outlast both wolf teams, Major - Outlast both wolf teams and escape the Cube
Wolves: Minor - Outlast other wolf team, Major - Outlast other wolf team, achieve 1-1 ratio with other cube members

All three factions will have the opportunity to commit one night kill each, more on that later.

Vanilla PM:

You are a vanilla cube rat. You are a normal person who has awoken in a strange experiment with no knowledge of how they got there.

Village Roles:

Bodyguard - May protect one person each night from attack, including himself. May not protect the same person twice in a row. If the person the bodyguard is protecting is attacked, the bodyguard and assailant will both die.

Duke - May once during the game change the lynch target.

Commando - May once during the game attempt to kill another player at night. This will only be active after one correct room has been entered.

Neutral Roles:

Jester's Mole - Tiebreaker on all movement and in-room decisions. May have unknown skills. Achieves major victory if he survives until the end of the game. Counts as a villager in the overall role count.

Inferno Hunter - May each day scan for the inferno device. If the hunter locates the device, they have the option of detonating it or deactivating it. Counts as a villager in the overall vote count.

Wolf Teams:

Scientists: This group of people were scientists who worked on the mechanisms and theories behind the Cube. They are led by the Physicist, and while he is alive this wolf team may learn whether one exit each day is the correct or incorrect route.

Construction Workers: This group of people were involved in the physical creation of the Cube. They are led by the foreman and volunteered to be in this experiment out of a mixture of bloodlust and greed. While the foreman is alive, this wolf team may learn whether one exit each day is the correct or incorrect route.

Items:

Inferno device - The device starts in a random person on the first day and moves randomly to another every night. Once three incorrect rooms have been entered, the device will explode.

It is if they lied in the thread:

So, let's suppose that they said, in thread, that they wanted Door Blue, but they chose Orange. To me, that says they changed their mind. Why? Look at the rules The Jackal posted so nicely for us. One possible reason could be that they found out about the door with a wolf role. I would find that suspicious, wouldn;t you?

Pushing people is never bad play. Getting the wolves to talk more and more helps to trip them up. The more we can get them to say, the more we have to have them later, so pushing is ideal. Pushing on door choice is just one of the few tools we actually have at this point, no?

The Jackal 05-10-2011 11:01 PM

(This was asked in the other thread and I wanted to let you know - if/when the groups recombine, the people from the other thread will be allowed to read over this thread while the game is still going on)

The Jackal 05-11-2011 12:06 AM

Because it's relevant:

For the purposes of any roles/abilities that can target people, you are all technically still in the same room.

MrBug708 05-11-2011 12:50 AM

That would be either one lucky guess or someone would have been reading the wrong thread?

I need to read better, I had no idea any of that was even posted to be able to read.

Nobody switched their votes right?

I wonder if we have two players on the same side in this room or if they were divided one in each room?

For a second I thought each number represented a person, but there are ten numbers per split and not as many people to represent one solely.

MrBug708 05-11-2011 12:55 AM

Jackal - On the inferno device, I'm assuming that we don't know if it is inside of us? Once it's explodes, is it gone? Lastly, is it three wrong rooms in order? Or just the third wrong door entered?

I agree with this approach, that way we have a better chance of surviving.

dwardzala 05-11-2011 06:40 AM

Looking at the vote from yesterday, later in the day, every time CF got a vote, someone put a vote on DV to push back ahead.

I am leaning toward CF at this point.

You do not know if the device is inside you except for the split second before you are obliterated, correct.

As to the mechanics of the wrong rooms, it's a secret!

mauchow 05-11-2011 08:59 AM

vote cf

I voted there yesterday may as well do again today. We literally have nothing to go on so we are shooting in the dark here unfortunately. If someone has a better candidate and we want a unanimous decision I will switch no problem.

Autumn 05-11-2011 09:10 AM

Okay, I was out all of yesterday and have only now caught up. A wild day.

I read quickly through the other thread, and obviously can't be hanging out there rereading, so I'm going to have to rely somewhat on you guys and your impressions of people. The only thing that stuck out at me was CF's response to my vote on him, which was completely random and the first vote of the game. He seemed more outraged than the situation warranted, but hey that's werewolf.

I don't have a guess at the moment as to the door thing but I'll look at them this morning and see what I can think of. Do we think it's more likely that there are two bad choices and one good or vice versa? Did this split come about explicitly because we "chose wrong"?

Autumn 05-11-2011 09:54 AM

So here is the sum of the number sequences, as well as the sequences of odds and evens:

Green A 52 o e o e e e e o e o
Blue B 51 o e o e o o o e o o
Orange C 66 e e o e o o e e o e

Yellow Z 32 o o e e e e o e e o
Brown F 57 o o o o e e o o e o
Maroon T 56 e o e e e o e o e o

Of note is that there is one odd sum and two even on both days. We know that one of the even sums from day one was the wrong door.

Also of note is that all of the "even sum" doors have 4 odd numbers in the sequences. Only the "Odd sum" options have a different number than four (eight and seven respectively).

All these things point at the middle doors being different in each set. I would think it would be worth picking Brown at this point to see if there's anything to that.

Abe Sargent 05-11-2011 10:56 AM

Morning All.

Schmidty 05-11-2011 12:53 PM

Hello. Not sure what to do at this point.

Abe Sargent 05-11-2011 01:04 PM

I want there to be as much of a consensus as we can get, and pushing either Zinto or CF from yesterday seems a smart choice. Getting more info is always good, and since CF already has a vote.

Vote CrimsonFox

mckerney 05-11-2011 01:58 PM

I'll agree to that. CF is as good a candidate as anyone and not knowing if there is one or two will be lynched we may as well protect ourselves.

Vote CrimsonFox
