Sometimes the needs of the many...
Spock: The needs of the many (shareholders)... outweigh -
Kirk: The needs of the few (employees). Spock: Or the one. Looks like my job is finally going away at the end of the month due to outsourcing. I'm the last person from my group who is left. My transition date has already been extended 2 or 3 times, but all indications are that this time it is for real. Anyhow, I figured I might as well go with the Star Trek tie-in. Make room for me in the unemployment line. :( |
That sucks man. Sorry to hear about this. :(
What's the unemployment rate on your home planet? More opportunities there?
Kang has singlehandedly killed any chance of my employment on Rigel VII.
Damn. Tough break. Like JediKooter, I hope a bunch of us can start a "Found a job" thread soon we all can post in.

:(
Sorry to hear that.
Damn...really sorry to hear that.
Welcome to the club Kodos!
All kidding aside, sorry to hear this man. Hope to hear good news soon from you. |
You guys should all start a business together or something. I'm sure Kodos' many tentacles would be helpful.
Seriously though, sorry to hear it. Good luck. |
Sorry to hear.
Sucks man :(
Hang in there. |
Ugh...that sucks
Sorry to hear this. :(

So, a couple of weeks ago, my boss called me and told me that she and a couple of other managers are pushing to get me extended to the end of the year. Their main argument was that the writers having to field questions from irate customers due to the errors that would occur in my absence would end up costing the company more than keeping me around. Fastforward to today, and here we are, a day and a half from my transition date, and still no word. My boss just sent me a note saying there's a meeting this afternoon with the guy who makes the decision. Wish me luck...
Good luck buddy!
Fingers Crossed.
I hope it works out for you!
Good luck... and a dancing banana

I'll sound off too and say "good luck" as well. And even if you do get extended, sounds like it's probably time to clean up the ol' resume and start looking anyways. Unless you're under contract, there's nothing that says you have to stay through the end of the year, should another opportunity arise.
Very true. I'm just looking at it as giving the economy and jobs market more time to recover. But I will obviously keep looking even if it does come through, as it would be only a temporary extension.
Definitely good luck man!
At least they aren't dragging things out. Still no word. RRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrr.
Hey look at it this way; the longer it takes, the stronger the case they're making for keeping you. :)
Missed this thread the first time. Best of luck, my friend.
Welp, I got extended through the end of September. So a call from the governor delays my execution for a few more months. :)

 Hopefully, you'll get the full pardon in the near future. One can always hope (while planning contingencies.) |
Sounds like it's time to work on the escape plan, Andy Dufresne ;)
(and maybe I should lay off the bad prison puns) SI |
Good to hear
That at least gives you 6 months to find a new job. helps some what, grats (I guess?) lol.

Hopefully you get a full pardon...or a new, better job. :) Glad to hear that you got a stay of execution and good luck with the job hunt, man! Must be hard for aliens to get jobs ;) /tk |
Excellent news!
Yeah, mixed feelings. Glad to have some more time to find alternate employment, but tired of constantly knowing my job has an end date (even if that date keeps getting pushed back). Still, better than the alternative. :)
I totally missed this the first time around. Glad to hear you got extended!

As long as that plan doesn't require crawling through a couple miles of the foulest smelling shit known to man... ;) |

Or trying to fight off "the sisters" in the laundry room. |
