Why would someone do this? Am I wrong, or has this woman effectively eliminated her ability to use her hands for most tasks?

She appears to otherwise look rather normal (though no wedding ring - shocker!) - why the hell would you do something like that? Is she trying to beat out one of those Indian swamis for a spot in the Guiness Book of World Records?

I know there's free expression. But if that woman has nails like that and is on public assistance(assuming those nails contribute to her not being able to work), that's just fucked.

I just did, and I do not regret it one bit.

Our local Wal-Mart is always an adventure. It's usually where I run into some students with their parents....and everything suddenly becomes so clear.

Then there's the occasional run that has to be made after 10 pm. It's a whole new brand of crazy then.
