One thing I thought of was maybe we should try to get a league-wide bye week or two next season where we could have a shorter time-frame for that week. Don't know how workable that'd be, but just an idea to help lessen bye-week boredom.

I thought we agreed no games vs FCS teams?

I mean how else is Indiana undefeated?

That goes into effect next season. Also, Georgia Tech was a recently added team, so we had no chance to alter their schedule.

You're gonna be one sad puppy when IU beats you in our first showdown.

I know, I was kidding, come on now. I was simply implying something must be off for IU to be undefeated.

IU is also undefeated in real life. How 'bout Michigan?

Wow, we almost lost to fucking Toledo.

I was using this game as a way to fine tune my passing game, and try out plays I haven't been able to use yet, and what happened were two INT's and a 21-0 Toledo lead in the first quarter.

Thankfully, the pass game got fixed and we took the lead back, but Toledo wouldn't go away.

That's the last time I fuck around like that though.

Final score was UM 45 Toledo 35

MOST impressive.

Oh God it's on next season.

Big test coming up for the Gophers at Illinois. Maybe the Minnesota defense will show up... not bloody likely.

Ohio State wins big 73-21. We lost our backup RB Brandon Saine for 2 weeks after we already lost our starting RB Chris Wells for 8. 3rd stringer Mo Wells came in and had a good game and will get the starting nod next week against Michigan State.

Epic fail. Illinois 33, Minnesota 27.

Edit: We tried to kill Juice Williams, but he kept getting back up. Our linebackers hit him and hit him and hit him, but he wouldn't stay down. Doh!

D'oh. I was hoping you would win out.

I don't feel so bad. I love that this game, this year, has more upset possibilities. It seems like your players can either show up or not, your play-calling is out-matched, or you just get outplayed.

I take it Texas beat Colorado last week and BC won (did they play)?

With guys not being able to get around for three or four days at a time, I don't see it working.

We are the highest vote-getters outside of the Top 25.

Wow, that is like 4th place at the Olympics.

We WILL finish ahead of you in the polls this year, despite a talent disparity and your cushy though unmerited initial ranking just outside of the Top 25. Then you can explain to your fans how a no-name team from a basketball school topped your beloved football team.

Don't worry that while you're busy picking on perenial losers in the conference, OSU has put you so far in the rearview mirror that they can't even see you anymore. Your once storied program is in free fall. Ours is on the rise. Enjoy the rest of your fall. :) We certainly will.

I'll say this, I don't see how anyone can beat Ohio State. I'm glad I don't have to play them.

I'm surprised that you leaped from #21 to #14 this week after struggling over a below-average Arizona team.

Looking forward to the Notre Dame-Washington game in two weeks. Hopefully we can both pull off wins (#19 West Virginia comes into South Bend next weekend) and set-up a game with a lot at stake.

I'm actually a little worried about these next two games. I think your thinking of Indiana.

As commish, can you simulate non-human controlled games without advancing?

I believe so. The sim games and advance stage functions are separate.

Should sim the big/Top 25 games before advancing.

We could do that. Perhaps tonight, if I get some free time.

Yeah, I'm surprised too. Helps that I switched from a sure loss against the Sooners to playing HA and his Spartans in week 3.

I'm very much looking forward to playing Notre Dame. I don't think we played in the "Tourney" earlier, so really have no idea what to expect. Good stuff.

As it turns out, I can't simulate CPU games without advancing.

Well, the good news is that we dispatched Iowa easily. Marcus Thigpen returned their first kickoff for a touchdown, and we cruised from there. They got a cosmetic touchdown late to make it look respectable against our second string defense, but we won comfortably 31-17. The bad news is that star QB Kellen Lewis hurt his elbow and is projected to miss three games: Illinois, Northwestern, and Notre Dame. :(

Too much hype

I cheesed it up a bit just to keepthe clock running and get the game to end ASAP, Georgia Tech beats FCS East 35-5, running all but two plays. QB Colbert and HB Mann both top 100 yards on the ground.

How is that cheesing?

Clemson beats Wake 34-7. Cullen Harper threw three picks, and James Davis was injured in the 3rd quarter (turned out to be a very minor injury).

Besides that, everything is hunky dory!!

Had to play my game twice.. it seemed to freeze coming out of the first game, but it didn't seem to matter, we beat KState both times. the one that counted was 20-13.

Just a reminder that tonight at midnight is the deadline. I think EF27 and KWhit still have things left to do, if I remember correctly from last night.

Yep, I still have this week to do. I got out of work early due to expected deteriorating weather due to Ike (which is one freaking massive storm.) I've got to do a few things around the house to prepare for possible 60 mph wind gusts, and then I'm going to try to get my game in during the next hour or so, hopefully before we lose power (if we even lose power.)
