IWS 118 Results

Well I thought the questions were good, but really not the best set of IWS questions ever. There were 2 good questions, 1 pretty good question, and then 3 eliminators. For most of his questions MIJB gave me a couple of choices, not to mention more than 3 questions, so I assume full responsibiilty for these results.

Question 1: Which RB will run for the most touchdowns?
Tomlinson - 21
Holmes - 5
Alexander - 5
Dillon - 2
James - 1

2. How many wins will the winningest team have in the regular season?
14 wins - 17
13 wins - 12
12 wins - 5

3. Which rookie will stand out most?
Carnell "Cadillac" Williams - 8
Ronnie Brown - 6
Braylon Edwards - 4
Kyle Orton - 3
Alex Smith - 3
Cedric Benson - 2
Matt Jones - 2
Mike Williams - 2
Demarcus Ware - 1
JJ Arrington - 1

I was surprised to see Ware do so poorly here. Also a big thumbs down to the person who told me about the guy who was a Wolverine and drafted by the Browns.

4. Which coach will be fired first.
Jim Haslett - 6
Mike Tice - 5
Steve Mariucci - 4
Mike Martz - 4
Love Smit - 3
Joe Gibbs - 2
Mike Holmgren - 2
Bill Parcels - 1
Marty Shottenheimer - 1
Norv Turner - 1
Mike Mularky - 1
Mike Shanahan - 1
Tom Coughlin - 1

I was amazed that Shanahan didn't get more votes and Mooch got so many. This question turned out to be the deciding question so New Orleans besides needing a place to play will evidently need a new coach soon.

5. Which team will be the biggest (pleasant) surprise?
Arizona - 22
Cincinatti - 3
Carolina - 1
Detroit - 1
Houston - 1
Oakland - 1
Dallas - 1
Chicago - 1

6. Name a team who will be in the Super Bowl.
Patriots - 29
Colts - 2
Eagles - 1

I think I should have excluded the Patriots and Eagles here and it would have been a far more interesting question.

Bah, Shaun Alexander is a TD machine! Screw you LT fans...

I know, I was happy to be so  helpful.
I still like question 2 a lot though.

Questions 3 and 4 had a nice spread, btw. (And, of course, those two cost me the victory.)

Raiders Army 09-02-2005 12:38 PM

Mike Tice caused me to lose this one. Two consecutive 2nd places (really tie for 3rd place last time since the winners tied).

*old man voice* I would've gotten away with it too if it weren't for you meddling kids and that dumb dog!

pennywisesb 09-02-2005 12:40 PM

Nice Maple Leafs, good job. The coach question killed me, for some reason I put Marty Shottenheimer, go figure.

Vince 09-02-2005 01:01 PM

Josh, you're obviously worse than me.

st.cronin 09-02-2005 01:16 PM

Dang I figured Orton would be a runaway choice, being the only rookie QB to win a job.

Me. Doing this IWS made me realize I should hate Braylon Edwards more than any player in the NFL, he was a Wolverine and now a Brownie, I don't see how it could get any worse.

No you're not who I was talking about since you made your comment about his background but did give his name as well.

Meh. HOLMES is the TD machine.

And I'm surprised someone with as little pro press as Cadillac Williams go biggest rookie surprise. How did Stupid not go after the most publicized rookie ever, WR Mike Williams?

Raven Hawk 09-02-2005 04:20 PM

Gah! I was so going to give Haslett the axe, but I figured, you can't fire a guy in New Orleans after the disaster that just happened. Silly me . . .

Instead I went with Mooch. Reason being, he hasn't made much progress in Detroit. If the Lions falter again this year, I figured he'd be gone.

I originally thought Haslett, but went with the same logic as you did. If I had, I would've tied for first place. I didn't think Mararrucci was that much on the hotseat.

Dola, and Mike Tice is the lowest paid head coach in the league. How is he not on the edge of getting fired?

mhass 09-02-2005 05:00 PM

I'm with Jeebs. Stupid is stupid. It's Alexander.

But there was only one vote for Shaun Alexander?

I figured that with them losing Moss, he would get some leeway for this season.

RendeR 09-02-2005 07:47 PM

How stupid IS stupid? 14 wins? not in THIS league. Won't happen again for years I'm betting. I can almsot see 13, but 12 is a gimme for the top team in the league.

Stupis isn't stupid, he's a complete mo-fucking-ron =)

There were 5 on Alexander. Well, that is, if the math is right.

Don't get discouraged! It takes all of about 2 minutes to think up the answers to these questions, and you never know how you're going to do (of the three I've won, I felt like I had no chance...while a bunch of ones I've come nowhere near winning I felt really good about my answers).

I'm on the list of multiple winners, despite having the reputation of being the worst player in this game. So, don't give up all hope now. :D
