Whats your Favorite Beer?

Whats your favorite Beer?

i like Bud light, Coors light and Corona

Young Drachma 06-27-2005 12:54 PM

Red Stripe.

Hooray Beer.

just kidding. I hate beer. It tastes vile.

Bo Jackson's Hip 06-27-2005 12:54 PM

Yuengling, Miller Lite...

Young Drachma 06-27-2005 12:55 PM

I don't wanna hear any b.s. about how it's an "Acquired" taste. I'd just as well never acquire it, no matter how much everyone tried to get me to see the light back when I was in the Air Force.

oliegirl 06-27-2005 12:56 PM

Bass Ale, Red Stripe, Corona (with a lime of course!)

rafini 06-27-2005 12:56 PM

Bud Light, Yuengling, Killian's

gottimd 06-27-2005 12:59 PM

I'll drink just about anything that is in front of me. Not a fan of dark beers, but if I was somewhere and that was all they were serving for some unknown reason, then I would suck it up and drink it until I passed out.

cartman 06-27-2005 01:00 PM

Shiner Bock

It's really an acquired taste

CHEMICAL SOLDIER 06-27-2005 01:01 PM

Budweiser Select, Sam Adamas, and as far as international beers: San Miguel is pretty decent.

Karlifornia 06-27-2005 01:05 PM

Skittlebrau

digamma 06-27-2005 01:05 PM

Among my favorites are Shiner, Pacifo, Anchor Steam, as well as an assortment of full flavored stouts.

I dislike all beers in green bottles.

Chas in Cinti 06-27-2005 01:08 PM

Pilsner Urquell, Harp, Stella Artois, Bitburger

Now, if I'm at the local watering hole, Miller Lite... :)

-Chas

VPI97 06-27-2005 01:08 PM

Guinness

Nothing else compares.

Castlerock 06-27-2005 01:11 PM

Wow, there are some bad beers mentioned above. 2 of my favorites:
Alaskan Amber (Juneau, Alaska)
and Long Trail Ale (Vermont)

A friend of mine in distributing once told me that the green bottles do not protect the product from direct sunlight as well as the brown, so they don't have as long of a shelf life...

FWIW...

Never had bitburger before, but I would agree with this list 106.79%

Samdari 06-27-2005 01:19 PM

Sam Adams Octoberfest.

sovereignstar 06-27-2005 01:20 PM

Newcastle and any Sam Adams

korme 06-27-2005 01:24 PM

I really want to try Shiner. No one has even heard of it around here.

My favorites right now would be Bud Light, Molson Canadian, and Corona only with limes.

Heineken is the worst beer I have ever tasted.

sovereignstar 06-27-2005 01:25 PM

Shit, I almost forgot about my other fav!

Samuel Jackson Beer - it'll get you drunk!

fantastic flying froggies 06-27-2005 01:48 PM

I like most beers, but have a preference for dark beers and ales...

SFL Cat 06-27-2005 01:55 PM

I like Guiness. Very thirst-quenching.

I usually drink Miller Ultra though, since I try to watch my carb intake.

timmynausea 06-27-2005 01:59 PM

Bell's. Brewed in Kalamazoo, MI. It's aweseome.
As far as the corporate beers, I'd go with Sam Adams.

I'll second that, I dont like heineken's taste. Dont really know what people like about it.

korme 06-27-2005 02:12 PM

The first (and last) time I drank a Heineken was in Canada. Bought some huge ass silver can that was like the equivalent of 3 1/2 normal sized beers (The Beer Store in Windsor has all sorts of huge ass cans, that's what we thought they were all like at first in Canada). Anyways, I started to drink it and immediately felt like it was settling in my throat and not in my stomach. Couldn't finish it before I threw up. Poured the rest out.

I like Heineken fine. It's a solid pils. Not the best. Not the worst. Tastes nice cold or with most foods.

condors 06-27-2005 02:16 PM

i normally am a whiskey (jack daniels) guy

but i like Fosters, Yuengling, and Moosehead

MacroGuru 06-27-2005 02:17 PM

I like Chimay Grande Reserve (on top of that, here in Utah, it has 9% when most beer from the store is at 3.2%)(Oh, and any beer above 3.2% has to be purchased at the state liquor store) but a good Hefe is usually right up there for me as well.....

ISiddiqui 06-27-2005 02:24 PM

Guinness is the nectar of the Gods. But usually I'll have a Sam Adams or Newcastle Brown.

I can't believe that people are willing to drink anything from Budweiser when they have a choice!

ISiddiqui 06-27-2005 02:26 PM

Almost forgot about Yuengling. We don't have it hear in the South, but while in NJ, I used to drink it a good deal. Good stuff.

If I'm not mistaken, Yuengling is hard to come by commodity unless you are close to PA.

Chimay is a great beer. A dangerous beer. While living in Belgium, I had spent many nights drinking Chimay Blue. Good nights, painful mornings. Hoegarden is a fantastic beer for a hot summer afternoon. Cold. Crisp. Very refreshing.

I'm also a big fan of Grimbergen, Leffe (Blonde and Brune), and Duvel.

Of late I have been drinking a lot of Yuengling (2-3 bottles a night or so). There's a lot of here in DC and it's cheap.

Honolulu_Blue 06-27-2005 02:33 PM

While slightly off topic, one of the best mixed drinks I've ever had was called a "Tatanka." It's bison (or bison grass) vodka and apple juice. It's amazing. It tastes like liquid apple pie: sweet and spicey at the same time. I have tried, without any success, to buy a bottle of bison vodka. I think the main brand (all of them?) is Polish.

Ryche 06-27-2005 02:34 PM

My favorite is a local beer, Summit Extra Pale Ale. Current second favorite is Flying Dog Scottish Porter.

In general, I like the EPAs, porters and unfiltered wheat beers.

And I don't believe beer is an acquired taste, I liked it better than pop the first time I tried it when I was 4 :)

They have it in Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina (Myrtle Beach), so it's making its way south.

Mustang 06-27-2005 02:35 PM

Hacker-Pschorr . .

Fonzie 06-27-2005 02:36 PM

I'm a big fan of Sam Adams, Sierra Nevada, Bass, Harps, and Corona with lime. I also dig the occasional Black and Tan.

Bo Jackson's Hip 06-27-2005 02:36 PM

I can get Yuengling pretty much anywhere in Jacksonville. Do you all have those around the World clubs in your local bars, whereby you get a card and if you drink every type of beer in the joint you get a free T-shirt or some crummy prize like that. A lot of the Ft. Benning area bars had that when i was in the Army there.

Crapshoot 06-27-2005 02:42 PM

Budweiser and Bud Light are piss packaged in bottles for people who don't know any better. Something like a Guiness or a Yeungling are a lot better.

And more expensive. Hell, even Bud Light is too pricey for me most of the time. I'm a college student, life is hard. $9.99 for a case of Natural Light is hard to pass up, piss or not.
