Man, they had some ugly front pages in the beginning.

no endless stream of popups and ads, though, I'd guess.

Yeah, that actually is a much cleaner and nicer look than what they've got now...

The 1996 look is what I remember best. Spent lots of time on that site my first year of college...

Me too. I find it hard to believe that people actually use all that crap. Just give me linked stories and stats and make it all free. :)

Most definitely. ESPN.com is almost unbearable to go to. Whatever happened to "Keep It Simple, Stupid"? It should be about the contents presented in an easy-to-read fashion.

The redesign sucks. I bet this thread is in the archive, doh!
