Butt cold
Mt Washington, NH
Northern New Hampshire is my wife's and I favorite region in the country. I love cold weather (it's the opposite of hot weather) and we are thinking about moving to NH in about 4 years. But I have been showing her weather reports from New England this week and even to me, that's quite butt cold back there. I know Mt Washington is the most extreme weather station in the continental US but it is fun to see such a low "feels like" number. For those back there in the Northeast, please stay warm. |
My current conditions in my hometown in CT:
-3 (feels like -26) Today we hit a lot of -37 with the wind chill and that was in early afternoon! You're right...it sure is cold here! |
Well, I was going to say some snide comment about that being nothing compared to Minnesota, but DAMN, that's cold.
The rest of New England isn't any worse than what we had last week though. |
-23 in Toronto.Dunno what it is with the windchill.
|
-43 degrees with no windchill? That's crazy.... I can't even imagine what that would be like

Imagine having sex with a pint of Ben and Jerry's. Imagine getting a full body hug from Hillary Clinton. it's early, I have to go to work, and I can't think of any more comparisons. Damn, I really wanted a third one. |
Go Colts!

somehow "frigid" doesn't really do it enough justice.

Here's a better site for Mt Wash data:http://www.mountwashington.org/weather/today.html Current weather is listed as "freezing fog". WTF is that? As for the Wind Chills... at the high of -23 and average wind of 63mph that gives you -67 Low of -45 average wind of 63mph gives -99 Log of -45 top gust of 103mph gives -108 |
This is not normal, this is the lowest we've had in a couple decades, and for this day, it's the coldest ever.
I WISH we had some global warming here :) |
Love that:
"Wind: Northwest at 85 gusting to 103 MPH" |
Freezing fog is when liquid fog droplets freeze to surfaces, forming white rime ice. This is very common on mountaintops which are exposed to low clouds. It is equivalent to freezing rain, and essentially the same as the ice which forms inside a freezer which is not of the "frostless" or "frost-free" type.

Why would anyone step outside into weather like that and then pose for a picture?? |

What is butt cold anyways? Is that different from balls-ass hot? What about suck-your-nuts-into-your-throat cold?
|
And yet they found a hiker dead on Mt Washinton this week.
|
I dont even think a well diggers ass is this cold.

Ummm...imagine Bruce Willis at Ashton Kutcher's bachelor party? I got nothin'. |
Walking to the train this morning was an exercise in frozen stupidity. I nearly lost my balls from the chill.
|
Have a frozen pipe said mother nature last night...
Even covered extremedies are at risk in this cold. Luckily it's going to be a balmy 10 or 20 this weekend in NH... |

What about a witch's tit? |
I walked a block down the street this morning. My nuts were the size of a dime.

Going from a nickel to a dime isn't so bad... |
Ok, I'm getting tired of hearing about the Northeast cold snap now. New York City reached a record low of -1....wooo. We're supposed to be -10 on Sunday. No big deal, that's just part of winter. On the bright side, it gives you a great excuse to stay inside and do more 'interesting' things.
|
-1. Come to Fargo. That is summer weather. Either that or 100 degree days with ungodly humidity. Fargo, weather so bad, hills and trees left.
|
C'mon now...try sitting outside up in the rafters of Commonwealth Stadium and watching two hockey games in -35 degree weather!!!!!
Now, that's living!!! |
All times are GMT -5. The time now is 02:32 PM. |
